Items 2-4: These refer to conspicuous signs of neglect.

Items 9-10: Wearing glasses or a hearing aid was not automatically equated to impairments of vision or hearing. Only obvious functional impairments observed in the course of the contact were recorded.

Item 11: Not only limitations in moving between places, i.e. impairment of the use of the lower extremities, but impairment of the use of the arms, hands and trunk were understood as impairments in movement.

Item 12: Other health risk factors included smoking and drinking, for example.

Items 13-18: Aids rarely or never used by the participant were also recorded.
